Temperature (T) dependence of physical properties of pion and σ-meson in the Nambu-Goldstone phase is examined in an effective Lagrangian approach. It is shown that ; (i) pion becomes heavy and tends to decouple with matter (quarks and leptons) as T increases, and (ii) σ-meson, which is hidden at T=0 due to the large width, appears as a sharp resonance and its width vanishes above a temperature T_σ≅197 MeV. The current status of σ-meson from the experimental and theoretical sides is reviewed and some physical consequences of the above collective phenomena are discussed in connection with the quark-gluon plasma and high density matter.
