Two kinetic energy expressions of a many-electron system as a functional of the electron number density, (1) full Thomas-Fermi term plus the Weizsacker term multiplied by λ(<1), and (2) full Weizsacker term plus the Thomas-Fermi term multiplied by γ(<1), are compared by numerical calculation of the total energy of neutral atoms on the basis of statistical model. The factor λ is determined first as a function of the atomic number Z by using the linear response theory, while the factor γ is taken similarly to that given by Gazquez and Robles. The radial density distribution of electrons in an atom is also compared for the two cases stated above.
