The test of quantum universal enveloping algebra of SU_2 group has been performed by making use of available data on atomic spectra and gyromagnetic ratios. In C to Ca region we have chosen 109 sets of data which are associated with more than three states for L-S splitting in a given electronic configuration. In the additional 185 sets for the iron-period elements both levels and gyromagnetic ratios are known for the given configuration under the similar criterion. In general a q deformation of Casimir operator improves the data fitting. About 80 % of the data favor the change of radius of space quantization by the same effect in order to get preferable explanation of two kinds of them simultaneously.
