Effects of dynamical quark mass generation due to spontaneous breakdown of chiral SU(3) symmetry are investigated in the framework of quantum chromodynamics. The structure of θ-vacua changes substantially, and it becomes a dynamical problem to prove the absence of gauge-invariant U(1) Goldstone boson. The mean instanton density is calculated in terms of quantities directly related to spontaneously broken chiral SU (3), and is estimated to be around (0.2 GeV)^4.
