We present evidence favoring the existence of non-degenerate parity partners and of baryonic daughter states. Baryonic resonances in the mass region below ~1900 MeV are classified into four Regge families belonging to the SU(3) representations of 1, 8, 8 and 10. This leads to a new interpretation of parity doublets as approximate degeneracy between two octet parent trajectories. Exchange degeneracy patterns and baryon spectra in our scheme are discussed in comparison with those previously proposed.
