The cross section for neutron scattering is studied in the light of a new space-time pair correlation function which is real and positive, and it is possible to give it a simple physical interpretation as a probability. A well-defined classical limit of the scattering cross section is presented on the basis of the new formalism, which takes correct recoil effects into account. Three simple illustrative examples are treated in the present formalism.
