In order to understand the relation between the dispersion theoretical method and the usual distorted wave Born approximation, we have studied the analytic properties of the latter amplitude as a function of energy. With some assumptions, it is shown that the amplitude has analytic properties similar to those usually assumed in the dispersion theoretical method.
