The method of calculating the form factor for a stripping or a pick-up reaction proposed in a previous paper is applied to a simple case of the neutron transfer reaction involving a nucleus with two particles or holes plus a closed shell core. The formula for the overlap integral which gives the form factor is presented in the form convenient for the actual calcu-lation. The numerical calculation is performed for the case of neutron pick-up reaction on O^<18> and the result is compared with that obtained by the conventional separation energy method. It is found that the two are very similar, but that the overlap integral obtainefd by the present method tends to be shifted towards the outer region compared to that obtained by the separation energy method. The formal structure of the method is also studied in detail and is compared with those of other similar methods. Discussion is given in particular on the accuracy of the method, the effect of the Pauli principle and the effective interaction used in the calculation. The present method is found to be particularly suited for the test of the model wave function used in the form factor calculation.
