A resnormalization procedure for the σ-model without fermions is proposed on the basis of unitarity, dispersion relations and the axial vector Ward-Takahashi identities. Green's functions can be expressed to any desired order of perturbation theory in terms of renormalized masses and coupling constants of the given unsymmetric theory constrained by the axial vector Ward-Takahashi identities. Thus Green's functions can be expressed in terms of a small number of physically independent parameters, and once they are settled, we can fix the subtraction conditions for the axial vector currents in return.
