The cluster variation method formulated for finite-temperature systems in a previous paper is applied to symmetric nuclear matter to see how it works in a practical case. The two-body cluster approximation is used with some conditions on the correlation functions. A large-core central potential is introduced which gives a reasonable saturation property of the zero-temperature symmetric nuclear matter. Then, the cluster variation method is applied to this system at finite temperatures, and the free energy, the equation of state and other thermodynamical quantities are calculated.
