Hyperon Production in KN Collision at Low Energies and a Unified Description of Inclusive Spectra

• The available data on the inclusive reactions K^+p→SX with S = Λ^^- and Λ and K^-p→S'X with S' = Λ, Σ^+ and Ξ^- at p_L≃4∼16GeV/c are analyzed in terms of an urbaryon model combined with the whole-region formula. The behaviour of the scaling and non-scaling components is investigated. It is shown that the non-scaling component is dominant at p_L<30 GeV/c, while the scaling component is overwhelming at p_L>30 GeV/c. The importance of the projectile-target fragmantation mechanism in K^-p collisions is pointed out. The Σ (1385) resonance and K^0 meson productions in KN collisions are also discussed.
