Long filamentous cilia covered the free surface of the ciliated cells and frequently extended over the hollows formed by non-ciliated cell surfaces. Many well-preserved erythrocytes were seen on the somewhat rough surface of the pulmonary vein. The three dimensional features of collagen fibers in subbronchial connective tissue were also demonstrated.
