Adaptive filters have been mostly implemented by using digital signal processing. The implementation of adaptive filters by switched-capacitor circuit is difficult because of its analog operation. However, a switched-capacitor circuit has advantages of low power consumption and small chip size. Thus, a switched-capacitor circuit which implements and FIR type adaptive filter using four-quadrant MOS analog multipliers has been proposed. However, a switched-capacitor circuit implementing an IIR type adaptive filter by using analog multipliers is not yet reported. In this paper, we propose an IIR type adaptive noise canceller by using a switched-capacitor circuit and four-quadrant MOS anolog multipliers. The proposed circuit is based on a parallel cyclic type circuit for operating in high frequency. Experimental results on a trial circuit by discrete components and computer simulation are demonstrated. It is found that the proposed switched-capacitor noise canceller has a good performance.
