In this paper, a new block implementation of a high-speed adaptive noise canceller using the direct form 2 realization of digital IIR filter is proposed. First, a pair of block diffrence equations is derived from the pair of difference equations of the direct form 2 realization. Secondly, a block implementation of high-speed adaptive noise canceller using the direct form 2 second order IIR bandpass filter is described. The canceller has raised convergence rate and reduced computational complexity compared with one using the direct form 1 second order IIR bandpass filter. The canceller can also converge under the condition of low signal to noise ratio.
