The profile of birth points of the secondary ions in the NOVA II plasma was calculated when probed by neutral beam. The orbits of secondary ions were calculated and the resultant traces, curves formed by tracks of the ions impinging the detector plate, were obtained for the purpose of the neutral beam probing of plasma current profile. A slight reduction of the sensitivity of the trace to the plasma current profile due to the toroidal field ripple, as well as the spread of the trace due to the finite divergence of the probing beam will bring about no substantial difficulty in identifying the plasma current profile.
