We report a new data-reproducing scheme for a high density of over 40 Gbytes with a commercial Blu-ray recordable disc. Bit error rates (bERs) of $3\times 10^{-5}$ and $3.3\times 10^{-3}$ with 45 and 50 Gbytes, respectively, were experimentally obtained using this new data-reproducing scheme, which indicates the possibility of achieving 50 Gbytes data storage with a commercial single-layer Blu-ray disc.
