Piezoelectric Properties of LiSbO3-Modified (K0.48Na0.52)NbO3 Lead-Free Ceramics

Lead-free piezoelectric ($1-x$)(K0.48Na0.52)NbO3–$x$LiSbO3 [($1-x$)KNN–$x$LS] ceramics were prepared by conventional sintering. A morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) between the orthorhombic and tetragonal phases was identified in the composition range of $0.04<x<0.06$. The ceramics near the MPB exhibit a strong compositional dependence, and good piezoelectric properties, temperature stability, and aging characteristics. It was found that the samples with 5 mol % LS exhibited enhanced electrical properties ($d_{33}\sim 262$ pC/N, $k_{\text{p}}\sim 46$%, $T_{\text{c}}\sim 373$ °C, $T_{\text{o--t}}\sim 60$ °C). These results show that ($1-x$)KNN–$x$LS ceramic is a promising lead-free piezoelectric material.
