Fourier intensity measurements for phase retrieval are discussed using a multispectra method suggested in a previous study. We focus our attention on the quantization of Fourier intensity with 8-bit quantization levels because a general 8-bit digital camera is economical and convenient for the measurement of Fourier intensity. We suggest a modified multispectra method with introducing rapid-descent measuring ranges to reduce the number of subspectra. Computer simulations are performed to show the effectiveness of the modified multispectra method for the measurement of Fourier intensity with 8-bit quantization for phase retrieval.
