To improve the performance of a corona charger for charging the photoreceptor in an electrophotographic system, hot airflow was introduced to the corona charger. The hot airflow increased the surface voltage on the insulator layer of the photoreceptor drum and the charging speed. The printing speed was 35% better when a hot air blower was used than when an ordinary corona discharger was used.
