Polymer films of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and Nylon 12 were plasma-treated in Ar gas and the effect of the treatment on their charging characteristics was investigated. After the plasma treatment, the contact angle of each film decreased and films tended to became more negatively charged. The contact angle and the charging characteristics gradually recovered with time and appeared to reach constant values 10 days after the treatment.
