We studied phase transition from Sm A to Sm C* by the simultaneous measurements of tilt angle, dielectric constant, and pyroelectric coefficient as functions of temperature with various applied voltages. For ferroelectric liquid crystals with small electroclinic effect, the pyroelectric coefficients are maximum at the phase transition temperature, which does not depend on the applied voltage. However, for the maximum dielectric constant, temperature increases with increasing applied voltage. The difference from the transition temperature is proportional to $E^{2/3}$. Non-chiral Landau coefficients can be calculated from experimental results and compared with other results in the literature.
