The dielectric anomaly in ferroelectric liquid crystals exhibiting polarization sign inversion has been studied as a function of temperature under an applied electric field. In such a system, the dielectric anomaly was introduced into a model of a dynamically fluctuating mixture of two interconvertible conformers, whose relative densities depended on temperature and external field. In the frame of the model, it was explained that dielectric constant increased after the suppression of the Goldstone mode by applying an electric field over a certain critical field. It was also found that the induced effective dipole moment, deduced from the field dependence of the dielectric constant, can be described by the simple power law as a function of temperature.
