Blood Concentration of Indomethacin Timed-release Capsules in Man

Serum concentration of indomethacin was studied in four healthy volunteers administered 50 mg of indomethacin in a single dose of timed-release capsules or of conventional hard capsules under o cross-over design on single-blind basis.<BR>(1) Serum concentration reached maximum within two hours in both for mulations. The maximal level with the timed-release capsules was assumed to be lower than that with the conventional capsules.<BR>(2) Serum concentration lowered more slowly with the timed-release capsules than with the conventional ones ; that is, higher serum concentrations were obtained with the timed-release capsules during four to eight hours after administration.<BR>(3) Serum concentration with the timed-release capsules was nearly null 12 hours after the intake.
