Tetramethylethylene was ozonized at 0 °C in several binary protic solvents and the relative reactivities of the solvents toward acetone carbonyl oxide were measured. The reactivity was found to decrease in the order methanol, ethanol, propyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, water, <I>t</I>-butyl alcohol, and acetic acid.
