The PdCl<SUB>2</SUB> complexes coordinated with methyl <I>p</I>-tolyl sulfoxide (1:2), methylthiomethyl <I>p</I>-tolyl sulfoxide (1:2), and 1,3-bis[(<I>p</I>-tolylsulfinyl)methylthio]propane (1:1) as ligands were prepared. Among these complexes, bis(methyl <I>p</I>-toly sulfoxide)palladium dichloride catalyzed effectively cyclotrimerization of diphenylethyne and rearrangement of 3-acetoxy-1-tridecene to 1-acetoxy-2-tridecene.
