The thermochromism of metal complexes of cresolphthalein dye was studied in organic solvents in the presence of pyridine derivatives. Remarkable thermochromic changes were observed for complexes with nickel(II) and magnesium(II) ion; a large temperature dependence was found in a polar aprotic solvent.
