• The inversion of the elution order in ion-exchange chromatography was found for cis and trans isomers of [Co(X)<SUB>2</SUB>(en)<SUB>2</SUB>]<SUP>+</SUP> (X=N<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>−</SUP>, NO<SUB>2</SUB><SUP>−</SUP>, and NCS<SUP>−</SUP>) by the addition of dioxane to NH<SUB>4</SUB>Cl or (NH<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>SO<SUB>4</SUB> aqueous solution as eluent, and the separation mechanism was discussed.
