Derotation varus osteotomy for the residual subluxation after the initial treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip.

Derotation varus osteotomy was performed in 52 hips of 48 patients with residual subluxation after the initial treatment of C. D. H. These patients were followed for more than 5 years postoperatively. The correlation between the conditions immediately after surgery and the results at the time of follow up was studied. We examined CE angle, Yamamuro's b, neck-shaft angle, acetabular angle, age, aseptic necrosis of the femoral head and Himeno's dislocation force based on rigid body-spring model. The results at the time of follow up were assessed by Severin's classification. The results at the time of follow up mostly correlated with the concentration of the femoral head immediately after surgery. Dislocation force was most valuable to present the concentration of the femoral head.
