Low frequency current therapy has been use for the treatment of chronic pain and paralytic motor disorders. Recently small surface S. S. P. electrodes have been used instead of low surface plate electrodes that is said to make the low frequency current therapy more effectively. The present study investigated the influence of S. S. P. on peripheral blood circulation, using telethermography, photoplethysmography and corethermometer. The subjects were 13 healthy female adults with 19 to 21 years of age.Skin temperatures, plethysmographic amplitudes and deep temparature were recorded before, during and after stimulation. The results were as follows:1) An increase in the skin temperature was observed in 7 of the 13 subjects (53.8%).2) An increase in the core temperature was observed in 13 of the subjects (100%).3) An increase in the photoplethysmographic amplitude was observed in 11 of the 13 subjects (84.6%).
