we trearted severe skin defects with musculocutaneous (M-C) flaps in ten patients.The patients consisted of 7 cases of pressure sore, 1 case of radiation ulcer, 1 case of abscess after total shoulder replacement, 1 case of recurrent breast cancer.Surgical treatment was performed; gluteus maximus M-C flaps in 6 cases, tensor fascia lata (TFL) M-C flaps in 2 cases, and latissimus dorzi M-C flaps in 2 cases.The results were as follow:1. The M-C flap had taken well in all patients.2. The M-C flap could be applied to the severe diabetic patients or the aged.3. It was able to apply to the wide skin defect over 10cm.
