A Case of Congenital Contractural Arachnodactyly Associated with Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis due to Hypopituitarism.

A 30-year-old male was seen at our institution with right hip pain. He had noticeable arachnodactyly, multiple contractures, dolichostenomelia, and abnormality of the external ears. He had not developed secondary sexual characteristics. Internal rotation of the hip was limited and Drehman's sign was positive bilaterally. Roentgenograms showed incomplete development of the epiphyseal growth plate and posterior slipping of both upper femoral epiphyses. Clinical and laboratory findings revealed congenital contractural arachonodactyly associated with slipped capital femoral epiphyses due to primary hypopituitarism. We began hormonal therapy and performed Southwick's osteotomy through the lesser trochanter to the patient's right hip and in situ fixation to the left hip.
