A Case of Cecum Cancer Associated with Adenosquamous Cancer of the Gall Bladder.

In recent years, multiple primary carcinomas of the large intestine and other organs have increased. We have experienced cecum cancer associated with synchronous adenosqudmous carcinoma of the gall bladder.<BR>A 78-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of lower abdominal pain. Barium enema and colonofiberscopic examination indicated cecum cancer. Ultrasonographic examination indicated tumor of the gall bladder. Cancer of both the cecum and the gall bladder were preoperatively diagnosed. He received extensive cholecystectomy with wedge resection of liver and regional lymphadenectomy, and at the same time, he received right hemicolectomy with regional lymphadenectomy. The pathological findings indicated adenosquamous carcinoma of the gall bladder, which is very rare and worth reporting. Though synchronous double cancer is said to be advanced and its patients are older in age, curative operation should be recommended if possible.
