Sixty-four blood samples from 28 uremic patients were analyzed for total calcium (Ca), inorganic phosphate (P), total protein (TP), and albumin in the serum. In these patients Ca had no significant correlation with either TP or albumin as was generally postulated, but showed significant correlation only with P. The regression analysis revealed that the residuals were of the same order of magnitude in both linear and non-linear formulation. It was also found that the product, Ca×P, increased along with BUN in uremic patients.
