Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) have been considered important technologies to deal with urban traffic congestion. Accurate traffic prediction is one of the critical steps in the operation of an ITS. While techniques for traffic prediction have existed for many years, the research effort has somewhat mainly been focused on highway traffic networks. Due to the fundamental difference between the traffic flow pattern on highway and that on urban roads, many of the existing models cannot be effectively applied to urban traffic prediction. In this paper, we propose an urban traffic prediction model which is easy to implement and can perform network-wide prediction in a real-time manner. The evaluation results show that our algorithm yields good prediction accuracy.
