In recent year, the recycling of metallic resources is more important. Solvent extraction is one of the useful method for the metal recovery from waste product. The development of dispersion and agglomeration technology is necessary to achieve the highly-efficient solvent extraction. In this study, the effect of ultrasonic frequency on the dispersion and coalescence of oil droplet was experimentally investigated. Chloroform was used for oil phase of sample. For dispersion, 20 kHz → 500 kHz sequential processing made the droplet size of emulsion smaller. For coalescence, the exposure to ultrasound in the MHz range accelerated the aggregation of oil droplet. For practical application, the metal recovery from metal-bearing aqueous solution by solvent extraction method was performed.
