Mice bearing experimentally transplanted sarcoma showed a higher survival rate after administration of ursolic acid isolated from Eriobotrya japonica than untreated control mice, and a decrease in tumor weight was also found. These antitumor effects were also observed in in vitro experiments using sarcoma 180 cells.
