In this paper we report a single platinum nanowire growth via field emission from the tip of a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) controlled by nanorobotic nanorobotic manipulator inside a field emission scanning electron microscpoe (FESEM). A MWCNT was assembled on an AFM cantilever as cathode. A tungsten probe was set at counter position by nanorobotic manipulator as anode. The trimethyl cycopentadienyl platinum was inserted to the chamber of the FESEM as precursor. The constant field emission current 1μA was applied to them for 10 times each 1 minute. Finally, a platinum nanowire 1.18μm grows at the tip of carbon nanotube which is analyzed by EDS spectrum of transmission electron microscope (TEM). The in-situ high purity platinum nanowire growth technique demonstrated here will be widely used for rapid prototyping of nanodevices for physical and chemical applications
