For the products with long supplier's production or delivery lead time, the retailer may change or even cancel the orders that have been placed when the market condition is suddenly changed. Such order modification or cancellation may cause serious costs for the supplier sides. Recent attention has been paid to the way in which a certain contracts between the seller and buyer should be made to deal with such problems. The past literature had revealed that the buy's order commitments can influence the performance of the supply chain. In this study a framework of simulating an agent-based supply chain system is proposed and three order commitment policies are tested through a discrete-event simulation for the supply chain system.
