The measurement of the trunk, limbs, head and face was made in 114 normal healthy adults (male), ranging in age from 25 to 55, indigenous to Anchu-mura, Inashiki-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture. The results are summarized as follows : (1) The stature being 160.14±0.45, the men under investigation ranked low among the lower medium height group. According to the standards of classification of stature, the largest number of them, or 40.4 per cent of the total, were of short stature. The men under investigation were smaller in the breadth of shoulder and the ratio of the stature to the breadth of the shoulder than their counterparts in other regions. (2) In the length of the head, they were smaller than their counterparts in Tohoku District, but larger than their counterparts in Chubu and Kansai Districts. In the lengthbreadth cephalic indek, they were mesocephalic, rather tending to be brachycephalic. Their average breadth-length cephalic index was larger than that of their counterparts in Tohoku District, but was smaller than that of their counterparts in Kansai. District, distinctly showing regional differences. In the length-height cephalic index, they were hypsicephalic, while in the breadth-height cephalic index they were metriocephalic.
