Large cup-to-disc ratio can be a useful measure for diagnosis of glaucomatous optic nerve head. Eighty eyes including 25 eyes with signs of glaucoma were imaged by a stereo retinal fundus camera. By use of a stereo image pair, a depth image of the optic nerve head was created, and the cup region was determined. Agreement in cup regions with an ophthalmologist was moderate, and the error rate in the vertical length of the cup, which is usually used for determination of the cup-to-disc ratio, was relatively small. The method can be useful for determination of the cup-to-disc ratio.
