生活文化と自然教育 : 日本の生活行事の視点から

In our modern society, it may become more important to give a good outdoor education for children, such as playing and studying in nature. In fact there are many kinds of outdoor education programs, it will be time to be needed to think about how to qualify them. To search for this issue, the author pays attention to the value of Japanese traditional annual events, which have been created from the mind of intimating and respecting nature. As a result, the author finds out their important role for maturing children's healthy minds and bodies, because they may have a power of 'classics in life' in the same meanings as 'classics in literature'. From this perspective, the present author concludes that we need to use the fundamental form of traditional annual events in the outdoor programs. In order to do that, it is pointed out that the planners of outdoor education will need to study seriously about the meanings as well as forms about the traditional annual events. In addition, the knowledge of Japanese classical literatures and arts would be helpful to deepen the meanings of them, because they may have close relations with Japanese traditional feelings indispensable to nature.
