It is a well-known fact that American corporations, which were defeated by Japan in manufacturing procedures in the 1980's, analyzed in detail the production methods of Japan and adopted the useful points with dignity. Also, they thoroughly promoted systematization, such as the CALS, the ERP, the CSM, the PDM, the DFM, and so on, which can be stated as an information revolution. They thus achieved a miraculous recovery and total reorganization. The same happened during World War II when the United States was in trouble at the beginning from the attacks by Japan's Zero-sen, but then the USA captured a Zero-sen in the Aleutian-islands, analyzed it thoroughly, drew up countermeasures, and ultimately gained dominance over Japan by changing strategy. Similarly, the United States lagged behind the Soviet Union in space development technology, but found a way out by adopting a special education system for talented persons in the education system. This strict self-assessment and rapid action by the Americans, who are a hunting people, can not easily be followed by Japanese perhaps because Japanese are a farming people. Also, Japan is poor in natural resources compared with the USA, and so has to realize that human beings are her resources and has to devise methods of educating and using humans much more efficiently than other countries. The same is true in manufacturing processes. The successful revival of American industry reminds us of a book called "Made in America", which compared and analyzed companies in the USA, Europe and Japan and proposed countermeasures for American companies. The book was widely read. At the beginning of the book a famous comment, "To live well, a nation must produse well", was translated by Mr. Naoya Ida, stating that "The prosperity of a nation depended on its outstanding productive power". The power that controls the development of not only one nation or area but also the whole of human society is, after all, the productive power that human beings have. In order to rapidly develop productive power, good morale and action among line workers in the manufacturing industry are the foundation, guided by managers at the site. This is a summary of studies collected from the years of personal experiences of the author at work sites in the manufacturing industry. It concerns the method of introducing "gentleness" into production and of linking "gentleness" with active motions in current circumstance and restrictions. It focuses especially on how line managers should act and instruct workers.
