This paper shows the list of old maps in Komazawa University Library. It covers the sheet maps printed or painted by hand before 1945. Atlases, geological maps, and most of the topographical maps are not included. The number of the old maps found in the Library amounts to seventy-nine. Fifty maps were accessioned by 1946. However, more than half of them appeared between 1912 and 1945. That is, they were not old maps but contemporary ones in those days. We can also notice seventeen wall maps among the maps printed before 1945, which were probably intended to be used in the classroom. After the Second World War, the accession of old maps stopped for a long time. In 1978, twenty maps in Edo and Meiji period (17th century to 1912) were purchased, and still during some following years several sheets were bought and donated. The collection after 1945 was centered around maps in Edo and Meiji period. As a result, the variation of the old maps became abundant to some extent.
