We propose a user interaction strategy for interactive retrieval of locomotion patterns from continuously archived tracking data. Sketches made on a map displayed on a computer screen are used for entering movement patterns. Several query types are defined to facilitate intuitive and unambiguous querying. The sketches are preprocessed and analyzed to identify the type of the query. Different search algorithms are used for retrieving data and ranked according to the similarity. The paper presents the initial results and concludes with an outline of possible future directions.
