Many students who study English are generally not good at writing. They can speak broken English and can read English to some extent even if they do not understand English grammar so much or do not have an abundant vocabulary. However, writing abstracts, papers, or the like in English is difficult unless they understand English grammar, have an extensive vocabulary, and can write English words exactly. Otherwise, the reader may think that even the research itself will be unreliable. It is common that one is requested to write abstracts in English when presenting or writing papers in academic societies in Japan, not to mention foreign countries. The writer must be able to write English sentences so that the reader can understand them easily. However, writing abstracts or papers without any support will be difficult for the students. Under such circumstances, it will be important to develop and evaluate online support systems for helping the students to write abstracts and papers more easily. It is also important to develop an online support system for checking one's records to motivate them to study harder by checking one's records continuously. The purpose of my work was to develop and evaluate online support systems for writing abstracts and papers, and for checking one's records. The purpose of this paper is to report on my work. CGI (Common Gateway Interface) and HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) programs were used for programming to create easy-to-understand systems while paying attention to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. And the validity of the systems is determined, based on the result of questionnaires to the students. As a result, 86% students answered that "Online support systems for writing abstracts and papers" were helpful completely or somewhat while 93% and 86% students answered that they understood how to write abstracts and papers, respectively, using the systems. In conclusion, "Online support systems for writing abstracts and papers" and "An online system for checking one's records" were found to be helpful and understandable for the majority of students. However, it is recommended that data (sentences) inputted by the students be stored and recalled for editing by the students.
