Efficiency Comparison Analysis of Second Harmonic Generation on Flattened Gaussian and Gaussian Beams Through a Crystal CsLiB_6O_<10>

The conversion efficiency of the second harmonic generation (SHG) properties of Gaussian and flattened Gaussian beams (FGB's) is studied in detail. For the first time, the SHG efficiency of the FGB's versus the crystal lengths, the pumping wave polarization ratio, the order of the FGB's and the pumping power intensity has been calculated by computer simulation. The theoretical efficiency of SHG has been brought near 1 in type I when the pumping radiation is that of FGB's. The efficiencies are 78.1% and 75.4% as the pumped wave is the FGB's of type II(1) and type II (2), respectively. It has been pointed out that the highest SHG efficiency was influenced by the order and polarization ratio of the pumped FGB's and the efficiency of the FGB's is theoretically obtained to be higher than that of the Gaussian beam with phase matching of type I and type II.
