203 A STUDY ON BASIC PERFORMANCE COMPARISON WITH ACOUSTIC HOLOGRAPHY AND MUSIC METHODS IN SOUND SOURCE IDENTIFICATION(O.S.4 Measurement and Sensor I)

When machines emit an unusual noise, this noise in many cases results in the failure of some of these machines. Therefore, it is thought very important for diagnosis of the machine and related technology to identify the sound sources. Moreover, in order to solve the noise problem using machine diagnostic technology, the development of sound source identification techniques for a high resolution has become important, and various research studies such as the acoustic holography (AH), acoustic double holography (ADH) and MUSIC methods have been performed. In this paper, a basic performance comparison among the AH, ADH and MUSIC methods will be discussed. Furthermore, a modified AH (MAH) method and a modified ADH (MADH) method for improving the identification accuracy of the AH and ADH methods will be proposed and their performances discussed. Several advantages of the MUSIC method have been shown through basic computation and experimental examination.
