Precision dies generally have three-dimensionally complicated shapes. Complicated and narrow areas of the die are difficult to be polished with the conventional grinding stone. This study proposes a new bonding type polishing tool and introduces its preparation process and characteristics. Here, the new polishing tool is called MAGIC (MAGnetic Intelligent Compounds) polishing tool. This tool was prepared applying a magnetic field in order to disperse abrasive grains. As a result, stabilized polishing surface roughness of a die could be predicted from polishing experiments.
