This report states the simplified method for simultaneous determination of alkali earths by means of the graphical relations between reaction volumes and total quantities of formed precipitates. In this study the relation between reaction volumes and the amounts of formed precipitate of several substances having different solubilities was investigated by the use of graphology. Substances having the greater solubility showed the higher gradient while those substances with little solubility had a lower gradient. When two or three compounds having different solubilities were precipitated from a solution by the same precipitants the graphical relation between reaction volumes and total amounts of precipitate showed a turning line having one or two transition points. The quantity of each of the constituents is determined respectively by the extension from the transition point to zero reaction volume on the graph. The results are as follows ; when the maximum reaction volume was about 1000cc., 50mg. of calcium was determined with 0.4% in experimental error, and 7 mg. of barium and 3 mg. of strontium, respectively, within about 10% allowed for error. When a reaction volumes was over 600cc. there was supersaturation phenomenon in the case of a simple ion, but there was no supersaturation at two or three ions in coexsistence. When the precipitates were formed from about 0.07 N hydrochloric acid solution there were no coprecipitation phenomena and pure filtrable precipitates were obtained.
