When zinc halides were dissolved in pyridine, new bands in infrared spectra of pyridine were observed at 637, 1015, 1044 and 1540 cm^<-1>, which were assigned to ν_<6a>, ν_1, ν_<12>, andν_<19b> of pyridine vibrations. In the case of mercury, only one band appeared at 1007 cm^<-1> newly and was assigned toν_1 of pyridine vibration. Solid spectra of zinc, cadmium and mercury halide complexes with pyridine were assigned by comparing with pure liquid pyridine spectrum.
